While clearing out the estate of his dead uncle, a retired professor named George Angell from Brown University, Francis Wayland Thurston discovers notes about his uncle’s investigation into a mysterious and sinister cult. Although sceptical at first, Thurston begins to uncover evidence that corroborates his uncle’s findings, and starts to suspect that his uncle’s death may not have been a simple matter of old age after all.
